TIN BEEF AND GRITS
Here is a recipe by the webmaster for his favorite at home.
One can tinned beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 tsp. fresh thyme
1 tablespoon tomato paste
Salt - Pepper - Hot Pepper to taste
(hot pepper - your favorite brand of hot sauce -- or crushed bird
pepper)
Package of grits - prepare per package instruction.
Saute onions and pepper in butter or oil. Add tinned beef, thyme, spices and tomato paste. Cook 10 - 15 minutes and then serve over grits.
Remember...in the islands, seasoning is “HOT - HOT - HOT”
